Master Bedroom Headboard: Decisions Decisions

I'm getting serious about revamping the master bedroom. In fact, I think it's next in the line of decorating fire around here.

First up: headboard. I made this one several years ago out of an old door. What I don't love about it right now is the top moulding that sticks out, making it quite uncomfortable to lean against. Also, I went a little overkill during the paint-it-black-and-distress-it phase of my life, and I'm so done with that.

It's served us well, but I'm ready to move on. I can't decide between doing tufted velvet or nailhead-trimmed linen.

There are loads of curvy headboards out there, and although I think they're quite lovely, I've always been drawn to the simpler headboard shapes. Like rectangle or a simple, subtle arch.

The linen and trim route would be easier by a zillion times, plus I like the classy simplicity. But luscious tufts of velvet! Get OUT. *Swoon.*

Make the decision for me, people. Please.

  1. Did you see my headboard I just finished after over a year? Sheesh I'm slow. Love love love it. The tufted is delish too. Too scared to do velvet with my kids however. The linen has been awesome. I'm really pleased w it.

  2. No, I didn't see it, is it on your blog? I would love to check it out. I ordered some linen, fingers crossed that it ends up being what it looked like online...

  3. Yes. Just one pic. Its funny that you blogged about a headboard because I just barely posted about mine. And it's been in the works forever. Only because I'm so slow to do anything around here.
